Camp Six Acres

Camp Six Acres is a non-sectarian, summer day-camp for children entering kindergarten through seventh grade, with a counselor-in-training program for returning campers entering eighth and ninth grades. The camp is owned and operated by Temple Shalom William and Charlotte Bloomberg Jewish Community Center and meets at its convenient location upon six lovely acres of land on Winthrop Street in Medford.

The campers participate in a structured morning program consisting of swimming, arts & crafts, creative arts, a group activity, and athletics. The athletics staff and counselors supervise campers in basketball, street hockey, soccer, volleyball and other recreational games. Camp Six Acres’ afternoons are spent leisurely. The members of the aquatic staff are all Red Cross certified and conduct daily swimming lessons and supervise free swim for all campers. Camp Six Acres’ in-ground pool is a real favorite among the campers.

Please be sure to complete the Health Records Form prior to May 1, 2024. If your camper will have a physical after May 1st, please submit the most recent physical and information now and email office@campsixacres.org after your child's physical to send us the new health form once you have it. 

Registration and Hiring

Registration will open on February 20th at 10am for returning families and 1pm for all campers.

Temple Shalom members and rising kindergartners graduating from Six Acres Nursery School have priority registration the previous week. 

We are hiring now for counselors, life guards, aquatics director, and STEM specialists.

During the camp season, the camp office is open 8-5:30. During the rest of the year email is the best way to reach us. Our business office is open year round, Mon/Tues/Thur/Fri from 9:30-2:30.
