Our experienced staff of mature and dedicated counselors has made a commitment to the safety of our campers. They supervise all daily activities (arts & crafts, athletics, swimming, etc.) as well as special events, such as Carnival Day, Olympic Day, World Cup Tournament, field trip, barbecue, and evening entertainment. Senior counselors supervise carefully selected junior counselors and C.I.T.s in all aspects of camping as related to our campers. All staff members at Camp Six Acres have had thorough background checks yearly through the Criminal History Systems Board (CORI) and the Sexual Offender Registry (SORI).
Amanda Butera, Director
Hi! My name is Amanda Butera and I am thrilled to be back at Six Acres for a second summer! I have been teaching upper elementary school for 5 years. Before becoming a teacher, I earned my BS in Psychology and Education from Northeastern University. I also earned my Master’s degree there as well concentrating on Learning and Instruction. I love living in the city and exploring different areas in my free time. I also enjoy yoga, cooking, hiking, and reading. I have worked at many different camp programs in Massachusetts and I look forward to a fun and exciting summer at Camp Six Acres.
Marissa Davis, Assistant Director
Hello Six Acres families! My name is Marissa Davis, and I am Medford native and current employee at Six Acres Nursery School. I have over 15 years experience working with children and am excited to grow my experience working with the summer camp. Before coming to Six Acres as a preschool teacher in 2013, I earned a BA in English at Tufts University. As a mother of two, free time is a precious commodity; I spend mine practicing photography and yoga. I also hold a 200RYT yoga certification from CorePower in 2014. I love the energy and creativity children imbue into their experiences and am very excited to return to Camp Six Acres!
